About Dr. Nelson

Dr. Linda Nelson is a board-certified reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist, practicing in the Phoenix area since 2010. She has been named as a Castle Connelly “Regional Top Doctor.” Dr. Moffitt and Dr. Nelson go back many years, having attended Ob/Gyn residency together at the University of California, Los Angeles. “I have known Dr. Nelson for over 25 years. She is smart, friendly and easy to get along with. I am confident that our patients will find her kind, understanding and able to provide them exceptional care as we help their dreams come true,” says Dr. Moffitt of his colleague.

Interested in reproduction and endocrinology throughout her career, Dr. Nelson serves as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. Receiving a Ph.D. in physiological psychology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Nelson’s research involved the effect of prenatal stressors and later endocrine responsiveness. She then received a medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and returned to UCLA for a residency in Ob/Gyn.

Her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Clinical Fellowship and National Institutes of Health National Research Service Awards Fellowship were completed at the University of California, San Francisco.

Prior to joining the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix faculty, she was a faculty member at the University of Illinois in Chicago and at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Our infertility specialists at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists continue their education for re-certification regularly. Dr. Nelson is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

She serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for the scientific Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Medical Education Presentation. She is also a member of the AAMC National Committee on Disorders of Sexual Development.

Her outstanding commitment and academic experience is consistent with ARMS’ overall dedication to medical education.

“I, along with Dr. Moffitt and all of the staff at ARMS, strive to help patients build their families with the most appropriate treatment plans individualized for each patient. Based on my continued interest in the area of stress and reproduction, I am also eager to help patients reduce the stress that they are experiencing.”— Dr. Nelson
