This Mother’s Day, Dr. Moffitt reflects on the strength and courage of mothers-to-be, how they fearlessly move forward to grow their families.

The characteristics that embody motherhood are the same as our beloved superheroes’: courage, wisdom, commitment, responsibility, compassion, selflessness. Over the past 27 years I have had the privilege of working directly with another type of superhero – women striving to become mothers.

Dr. Drew Moffitt sends Happy Thanksgiving wishes, noting his thanks that the miracle of fertility medicine success is better now than it was 25 years ago.

I would like to tell you the story of one of my patients who traveled a long road to this Mother’s Day. Through loss, hope and charity for others, she exemplified a mother’s qualities long before experiencing the joys of motherhood.

Mothers know a lot about the word “more.” It seems like they are always expected to have it. To have more. To give more. To care more. To love more.

By Dr. Drew Moffitt – Mother’s Day is upon us. It is not the most welcome holiday for many of my infertility patients, but little is said about the incredible love, sacrifice and courage of “mothers-to-be.”
